Remote Learning starts April 1st!

Hello HGE Families!

Remote learning officially starts tomorrow in Adams 12.  Please read below for some important information!

  • Learning Platforms

    • Kindergarten through 2nd Grade classroom teachers will be using SeeSaw.

    • 3rd through 5th Grade Classroom teachers will be using Google Classroom.

    • Our Art, Music, and PE teachers will be using Google Classroom and you will get information on how to join those classes soon.

  • Please see the attached document on how to log on to either a Chromebook or through our school website ( to be able to access the information.  

    • 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students should continue to log on using their username and password they use at school.  

    • Kindergarten through 2nd grade parents will get an email no later than the morning of Wednesday, April 1st with login information.

  • Remote Learning

    • The district has purposely planned learning to enable all families to access the information and complete work on their own time.  This means that teachers will NOT be having live lessons on a regular basis.

    • Learning will be presented on a weekly basis so that families can choose which days and times learning is best for them.

    • Work will be assigned on Mondays (other than this week, where work will be assigned April 1st) and will be due no later than Friday of that week, unless given a different date by your teacher.

    • Teachers will be posting video lessons, when appropriate, to their learning platform, along with Learning Boards that will have the assignments listed on them.  Teachers will instruct you how to submit work back to them.

    • Each teacher will have “office hours” each day.  These office hours are designed for you to have questions answered immediately.  Your teacher will communicate their daily office hours to you and will explain if they are available over phone, email, and/or live video.  Please continue to email your teacher at any time with questions, but know that you will get an answer very soon during the office hours.

    • Attendance will be tracked through work submitted to you teacher.  Please remember - with our current circumstances with COVID-19, this work is required and is counted for attendance and grades.

    • Please remember to please also check our school website and your teacher’s classroom page, as those are being updated with additional information.

  • Devices

    • The district has received tons of requests for devices.  If you have requested a device and have not heard back, please be patient.  Each person who requested a device will be getting a phone call with information on when and where to pick up.  Please wait for this phone call, as each computer is getting assigned to a student and your pick up will be very quick since you already submitted your child’s information.

    • If you still need a device, the district is offering drive up services at our 5 high schools from 9-2 each day, from Tuesday March 31st-Thursday April 2nd.  While exact time will depend on the number of cars in line, please plan on spending some time there, as you will need to get a specific device assigned to your child.

We recognize that this learning is new for all of our staff and students.  We appreciate your flexibility in learning with us throughout this process.  Our teachers have been working very hard to design lessons that are both meaningful, but also easy for families to navigate and understand.
