April 2018 Newsletter

Dear Hunters Glen Families,

April is here and we are winding down to the last 8 weeks of the school year!  We are dedicated here at HGE to ensuring that these last 8 weeks are still full of meaningful instruction and learning for our students.  With the weather changing and the school year wearing on the students, it can be a challenging time for students to stay focused. Please stay positive and encourage your child to keep working through to the end of the school year.

On April 10, we will be welcoming the parents of the Class of 2031 for an informative meeting about what to expect in Kindergarten.  Mrs. Telgenhoff and Mrs. Buchan will be presenting information and have some materials to hand out to parents. Please plan to attend if you have an incoming Kindergarten student and please remind neighbors and friends of the meeting.
State testing continues for grades 3-5 when we return from Spring Break.  Please encourage your child to “do their best” and “try hard”. We are simply asking to do that.  Please have students get a good night’s sleep and have a good breakfast on testing days. The remaining schedule is:

  • 3rd Grade: April 4th, 5th, and 6th (ELA) & April 13th, 16th, and 17th (Math)
  • 4th Grade: April 9th, 10th, and 11th (ELA)
  • 5th Grade: April 5th, 6th, and 9th (Math) & April 18th, 19th, and 20th (Science)

A friendly reminder that we do not allow dogs or other animals on school property during school hours and during arrival and dismissal.  This is a district policy that we ask you follow. We have students who are scared of dogs and those that are allergic as well. Thank you for following this policy.

If you ever have any questions, concerns, or points of clarification, please never hesitate to call the school.  Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Christopher J. Blados, Principal
Hunters Glen Elementary
