November 2021 Newsletter
Dear Hunters Glen Families,
November is upon us already! We want to thank all of our students and families for their partnership and willingness to work with us as we navigate this school year. As a reminder, there is no school on November 11th in honor of Veterans’ Day and no school on November 12th due to district staffing issues. If approved by the necessary government agencies, the district might have a vaccine clinic for students ages 5-11 to receive the COVID vaccine on November 12th. Please continue to review district communication if this is of interest to you.
Both November and December are ‘short’ months, as there are only three weeks of school in each month, due to holidays and breaks. Please remember that despite the short months, teachers will continue to teach on a regular basis as it is important for our students to continue making progress and mastering grade level standards. Please remember that attendance and being on time to school is always important, even on days close to breaks.
We do have a lot to be thankful for at Hunters Glen this year, despite the continued challenges of COVID. Thank you to our families who were able to attend conferences or discuss their child’s progress with their teacher at another time. Thank you to our families for also attending and/or helping out at our Halloween celebrations last week! It was great to have some ‘normal’ activities at school this year!
As November has reminded us, the weather is starting to become much cooler, especially in the morning. All students continue to go outside for recess as long as the temperature (including wind chill) is at 20 degrees or above. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. All students attend outside recess, unless there is a doctor’s note specifically stating that they cannot for a medical reason.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. One of the main reasons Hunters Glen is a great building is the tremendous support we receive from our families. Thank you for that and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or points of clarification.
